The Canton Arts District in Downtown Canton, Ohio has exploded on the scene over the last three years. Through the amazing efforts of 50 artists, and the partnership of the Special Improvement District and ArtsinStark, the Canton Arts District is an evolving collaboration of commerce, camaraderie, and creativity. The Arts District now boasts four art galleries and twenty-two artist studio. There are 35 new pieces of public art, fabulous restaurants, bars, little shops -- and a monthly First Friday celebration that attracts thousands.
We've created decidcated sections on the site for the venue, hotels as well as Canton, Ohio area restaurants, shopping and attractions here and abroad. If you are traveling from out of town to attend OhioProg 2012 there are plenty of amenities to enchance your trip. The Pro Football Hall of Fame provides an "All Star Experience." The McKinley Presidential Library, Museum & Monument which is also the burial site of President William McKinley and his family. The Canton Art Museum is a few blocks away from the Canton Palace Theatre and the Canton Classic Car Museum as well as the National First Ladies' Library are within walking distance from the venue. There are wineries, parks, over twenty golf courses and over 100 shopping outlets including the Westfield Belden-Village Mall (near many of the hotels, just a quick shot up I-77), "The Strip" and many one-of-a-kind shops you will only find in Canton, Ohio.
If you are interested in making the trip an extended holiday, there are plenty of attractions in surrounding areas. Such as the Akron Zoo in Akron, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland and Cedar Point in Sandusky.
